Clay Camp
Dates & Themes Mondays-Thursdays 9am-1.30pm
SESSION I: July 7th-10th: Kid’s Clay Cafe This week we will be making our own restaurant! Kids will have the opportunity to design their own tableware, clay food, Menus and even build their own restaurants after clay!
SESSION II: August 4th-7th: Earth Changers This week we will become stewards of the earth learning about sustainability and nature! Kids will learn about clay’s connection to the earth and human history. We will be making vessels for plants, chia seed pet’s, seed bombs and historical vessels! We will also be making found object sculpture!
SESSION III: August 18th-21st: Mystical Lands and Magical Clay This week we will dive deep into our imaginations creating magical worlds out of clay! Kids will learn about mythical creatures and explore building magical objects out of clay. Projects include fairy houses, exquisite corpse creatures, wizard wands and much more!
Our Kid’s Clay Camp (Ages 6-12) will immerse your child in the ceramic process. At Clay Space we aim to create artwork that can live on and serve as a kid's time capsule of thought and creative expression. Through hand building, they will be given the tools to create the visions in their head and take their projects to the next level. The projects made during the week will be put through the formal ceramic process of firing so that their artwork can be used in daily life and loved for years to come. We like to think of clay as magical!
Each week centers around a theme which is tailored to clay and its properties. These themes are a way to captivate the kids’ attention and throw them into a niche of the ceramic world. Even though our weeks are themed we feel it is important to empower the kids to follow their independent interests and will assist them in independent led projects.
We have an indoor and an outdoor space where different types of hands-on activities can take place. If we have a larger group we plan on splitting up by age and switching between spaces and activities. Weather permitting, we'll spend part of the last camp day at McGolrick Park.
We are thrilled to invite your child into the ceramic process. It has many stages which will lead to fully fired ceramic work that can be cherished and used daily for years to come. This process can take some time to complete as there are many different stages and multiple firings. Pieces from your camp week will be able to be picked up 2 weeks after camp ends. They will be able to customize their creations using underglaze decoration and everything will be glazed in clear. In the meantime your child will be bringing home drawings and other artworks.

Clay Days
Our Kid’s ClayDays Camp will immerse your child in the ceramic process. This day-long offering is the perfect opportunity to explore clay making and art! At Clay Space we aim to create artwork that can live on and serve as a kid's time capsule of thought and creative expression. Through hand building, they will be given the tools to create the visions in their head and take their projects to the next level. The projects made during the day will be put through the formal ceramic process of firing so that their artwork can be used in daily life and loved for years to come. We like to think of clay as magical!
During the camp day there will be structured projects and lesson plans centered around clay, art history and other arts techniques. We feel it is important to empower the kids to follow their independent interests and will assist them in independent led projects. We have an indoor and an outdoor space where different types of hands-on activities can take place if weather permits

Clay Date
Ages 5 - 13 yrs (3-4 year olds on request with parent/guardian)
Our Clay Play “TryDay” is a great way for your child to get their hands into clay without having to commit to a camp or after school! This is a great activity for a group of friends or siblings! In this one and a half hour long class an instructor will walk your child through making with clay to complete a sculptural or functional work of art.
Clay is magical and can bring your child’s imagination to life! The projects made during the day will be put through the formal ceramic process of firing so that their artwork can be used in daily life and loved for years to come.
Your child will have the opportunity to pick out a color for their work of art and we will glaze their piece for them. The firing process can take some time to complete as there are many different stages and multiple firings. Pieces from your try day will be able to be picked up a month after your lesson. Please plan accordingly if your child wants to make a gift for someone!
