Membership

Becoming a member

Because we put community at the center, we make it a point to meet all prospective members in person and introduce you to our space, our vision, and our values. Get to know us a bit by reading our Community Agreements.

OUR PROCESS

  1. Fill out our membership application so we can get to know you and your needs.

  2. You will hear back from us to schedule a studio tour or direct you towards continuing your journey of learning*.

  3. Tour Clay Space and get a feel for our community. Once we all agree, you’ll be offered a membership based on availability and interest.

*While we do value all skill levels, membership will only be considered for those with more than one year of consistent lessons and are able to commit to a 3-month minimum membership term. By filling out our membership application, this allows us to learn a bit about your skill level and needs. You will hear back from us within 10 days with a determination. If we feel you’re ready for a membership, we’ll invite you to  schedule a studio tour so you can visit the space and get a feel for our community and amenities.

Our member’s work area does not include instruction, therefore all our memberships require a strong base level understanding of the entire ceramic process as well as several classes and/or practice experience that shows you’ve really grasped the process. This doesn’t mean you have to be a master ceramicist, but we do need to ensure you’re working at an independent and intermediate/advanced level. If we determine you are not quite ready for membership, take heart! This only means we think you’ll be better served by continuing with the support of an instructor’s guidance. Because we see how our students have developed their skills, they are in line for membership when spots open up before those from outside the community working at the same level. We recommend you consider one of our intermediate, advanced or independent study classes to expand your skills and experience and our instructors will help guide you towards membership.

For those that haven’t begun their clay journey or have some amount of experience, we would be honored to be a part of your learning and growth. We suggest starting with one of our many classes
