Clay Play is an inquiry based creative hand building exploration that emphasizes mindful process and experimentation over cookie-cutter products. To this end, Artist Educators work collaboratively with students on individual projects throughout the semester.

Comprehensive understanding of the properties of clay and the inner workings of the ceramics studio are demonstrated weekly. Our Artist Educators connect with each maker to support and augment each unique and creative project.

These can include whimsical and functional objects to outrageous sculptural designs and everything in between. With an emphasis on drawing and sketching and process over product, our collective aim is to cultivate an artistic cohort of confident makers that learns from each other as they play with clay. 

Clay Play Tuesdays

Winter/Spring Semester: January 2nd-June 25th (23 sessions, make up on 6/25 for missed snow day)

Spring Semester runs from January 2nd - June 20th

We follow school closure days and do not offer pick up on half days.

All students will be asked to follow our Clay Space Community Agreements

Semester Fee:

• Payment Plan Available

• Sibling / Multiple Day Registration Discount available.

• Late Pick Up Fee up is available for up to 30 minutes for $18 per class.

• Late pick up: $15 after 15 minute grace period.

• Please note: Program requires a full semester commitment.

Supplies:

• Class fee includes clay, glazes, all firings, use of tools, and books where designated.

• Your child may bring their own apron or smock.

• Please provide an after school snack and mask (when required) for your child. We will charge a small fee if your child needs a mask or a snack.

Cancellation Policy:

To request a cancellation and full refund minus a $50 processing fee, you must contact us in writing within 10 days prior to the first class of your session. Refunds requested within 10 days of the first class are 50% refundable. There are no refunds after the session begins. Email info@clayspacebk.com with your cancellation request.

Missed Class Policy :

There are no make ups and no refund for missed classes.

COVID-19 Protocols:

Clay Space is now mask optional. We appreciate all of our community for doing your part to keep others safe since we opened our doors. We support everyone for making the choice to continue masking, Should there be a shift in the community and we experience a number of Covid-19 cases, we will return to making. Because of the uncertainty, if the CDC guidelines change at any point before or during the session we will follow the state’s requirements. In the event of a shut down, wherever possible, we will provide materials and online instruction to fulfill the remainder of the session. Where this is not possible, we will give you credit towards another current or future class, firing, or materials.
